It's not a secret that Black Sheep is known for its award-winning Mac and Cheese. In fact, the Mac and Cheese is so popular at Black Sheep that there is a whole section on the menu devoted to it. Besides the original Mac and Cheese, there are six other versions available under the "A La Carte Mac" section of the menu. They include Mac Daddy, Cowboy Mac, Veggie Mac, Hot Mama Mac, Mac Blues, Chili Mac, Mac 'n' Broc, Beefy Mac, and Mac Mexicano. These are a few reviews about Black Sheep's famous Mac and Cheese:
Stand-out ingredients: Black Sheep is keeping the particular cheesy ingredients secret, but we love the baked top. We opted for the original pub mac ’n’ cheese. Portion: Hearty enough to share or to take home half for leftovers. Overall flavor: Perfection. This is the gold standard for mac ’n’ cheese, guys.
Noodle-to-cheese ratio: From the size of the elbow macaroni, to the lightly baked cheese on top, to the gooey glory contained beneath, everything just works here. There is no noodle-cheese separation weirdness going on. We suspect some kind of Velveeta-type substance might be at play here, but it’s so delicious that we just don’t care. Service: Even though Black Sheep is nearly always packed, our server was cheerful and checked in frequently to see if we needed anything. Rating: 5 out of 5 noodles.

This looks like a dive but the food and service was outstanding. Yes everybody says they have the best Mac and cheese, they can say it and mean it. This is the BEST Mac and cheese I have ever had. Perfect mix of cheese and creaminess.

Husband and I came across this little place while bar hopping. We went back the next day for lunch. Delicious mac n cheese and great soup!!! Would highly recommend!!!

If Black Sheep ever closes, I'm leaving SLO. Best Mac and cheese ever. Best nachos ever. Great beers on tap. The best and friendliest staff in town.
They even take care of you with incredible meals at a reasonable price on Thanksgiving. It's a locals' treasure. So much love.

I love love love Black Sheep and can't recommend them enough. In fact it's probably my favorite place to hang out in downtown SLO. They have hands-down the best mac & cheese in the county And their Panko crusted onion rings and fish and chips are unbelievably good. They also have a good happy hour With good beer on draft. Jyrus and Nicole and Jodi are my favorite bartenders in town, and always friendly and welcoming. They know how to take care of guests and set the standard for great bartenders!

feels like a cozy pub in old town europe... order the mac n cheese and customize to your liking... AMAZZZZING! my favorite slo spot to chillax with food and drink. enjoy!

Had some finger food. My wife and I had a late lunch and hit the happy hour. Great happy hour with cheap well drinks $3.50, and beer. Mac and cheese was great along with their homemade guacamole. Recommend hitting this place for happy hour.

Honestly some of the best mac and cheese I've ever eaten. The portion was very generous for the price. Even if you're not looking to drink, I recommend going there to eat!
